Retrospective of Caselli’s works to be presented by The Center for the Multidisciplinary Study of Cybernetic Existentialism

United States, 11th Dec 2024 —The Center for the Multidisciplinary Study of Cybernetic Existentialism today announced its upcoming retrospective, featuring the works of the late Italian artist Ruffo Caselli. The much-anticipated art exhibition will celebrate five decades of Caselli’s groundbreaking contributions to the art world, particularly for his “robotics on canvas” works. It is planned for 2025 in Genoa, Italy.

Caselli, who passed away in December 2020, was one of the first artists to blend traditional art with technology. When microchips were first invented, Caselli famously incorporated them into his artistic creations. According to the exhibit’s organizers, “Caselli’s artistic masterpieces are admired around the globe. The retrospective has been curated as an event of significant cultural importance.”

The artist’s works have long been admired and collected around the world—from early sponsorship by a famous SOHO gallery in New York City in the 1980s, to showcases in South America, South Korea, and Russia.

Art collector and curator Elena Garas has long been a passionate advocate for Caselli, particularly his works from the 1970s and 1980s. Garas introduced Caselli to important galleries and museums, including the historical Museum of Cheliabynsk and the Museum of the City of Uray, with presentations and conferences held by Zaitsev Dmitry Stanislavovich, curator of the exhibition of Ruffo Caselli in the city of Uray. Garas also arranged exhibitions in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra, the Russian region.

The latest 2024 exhibition of Caselli’s work was held in Via Foro Bonaparte, Milan at the Azimut company’s headquarters for a full five months.
