The trailer for the Christmas slasher film “It’s a Wonderful Knife,” created by writer Michael Kennedy (known for “Freaky”) and directed by Tyler MacIntyre (from “Tragedy Girls”), has just been unveiled today. You can exclusively watch the trailer on Entertainment Weekly.

Update: You can also watch the trailer below.

Presented by RLJE Films and Shudder, “It’s a Wonderful Knife” is scheduled for a theatrical release across the U.S. on November 10, with streaming availability on Shudder at a later date.

Described as a blend of “Scream” and “It’s a Wonderful Life,” the film’s official trailer clearly showcases these two distinct influences. It promises to be an entertaining holiday experience.

The story unfolds in the picturesque town of Angel Falls. One year after heroically thwarting a psychotic killer’s rampage on Christmas Eve, Winnie Carruthers finds herself in a less-than-ideal life situation. However, when she makes a wish to erase her existence, she unwittingly enters a nightmarish parallel universe. In this alternate reality, she discovers that things are far worse without her presence. Now, as the killer resurfaces, Winnie must join forces with the town’s outcast to unmask the murderer and return to her own reality.

Leading the cast is Jane Widdop (“Yellowjackets”) as ‘Winnie Carruthers,’ with Joel McHale (“Community”) portraying Winnie’s father ‘David,’ and Justin Long (“Barbarian”) taking on the role of the town’s benefactor, ‘Mr. Waters.’ Notable appearances also include Katharine Isabelle (“Ginger Snaps”), Jess McLeod (“One of Us Is Lying”), and Cassandra Naud (“Influencer”).

Michael Kennedy not only penned the script but also serves as a producer for the project.

Mark Ward, RLJE Films’ Chief Acquisitions Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the film, stating, “We’re excited to release ‘It’s a Wonderful Knife’ and once again work with its amazing cast and filmmakers. Over the last few years, we’ve been fortunate to have released horror/holiday films that have been embraced by audiences, and we believe this one is no exception.”
