Central Oregon Community College’s Small Business Development Center (COCC SBDC) is launching an exciting new series focused on networking for entrepreneurs. Networking can often feel like a daunting journey for small business owners, but the first session of this series, commencing on Thursday, October 12th at 5:30 p.m., aims to equip participants with valuable techniques and opportunities to connect.
Dubbed the “Community Building Community” series, these monthly gatherings will take place at COCC’s Bend campus, with pricing starting at just $29. These sessions will provide a unique blend of skill-building, strategic insights, and a social environment where business owners can forge connections with their peers. For existing clients of the Small Business Development Center, the first two sessions are available at the special rate of $10 each. Additionally, every monthly gathering includes a complimentary beverage and appetizers. To register or find out more, visit cocc.edu/sbdc or call 541-383-7290.
Sue Meyer, Assistant Director of the Small Business Development Center, explained, “Some of these sessions will feature guest speakers and presentations, while others will provide opportunities for informal get-togethers and ‘speed-networking.’ We understand that entrepreneurs can sometimes feel isolated in their own thoughts and could benefit from sharing ideas and connecting with others. This is a key reason why coworking spaces are so successful.”
The inaugural session, titled “Networking Made Easy,” will draw on the expertise of Jeff Schneider from Schneider Training Solutions in Portland. This session will offer 45 minutes of coaching followed by 45 minutes of interactive practice. The next session, “The Win is Within,” is scheduled for November 14th. Future topics in this series will cover areas such as branding, marketing, and enhancing business efficiencies.
