Family Dollar is issuing a recall for numerous consumer products, including over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and toothpaste, which were improperly stored at the retailer’s locations in 23 states. According to a recall notice published by the Food and Drug Administration, these items were stored outside their specified temperature requirements and were inadvertently shipped.

Customers who purchased these products between June 1 and October 4 can return them to the store of purchase without needing a receipt. If you have any inquiries, you can reach the company at (844) 636-7687 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern time. You can find a comprehensive list of the brand-name products being recalled, ranging from aspirin and laxatives to ear and eye drops, here.

Family Dollar has confirmed that customers returning the recalled items will receive a full refund. These products were available in Family Dollar stores located in Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

This recall comes on the heels of a similar incident five months ago when Family Dollar recalled incorrectly stored Advil bottles. Last year, Family Dollar also recalled FDA-regulated products due to issues at a distribution center in West Memphis, Arkansas, involving rodents and the potential presence of salmonella.

Dollar Tree, the parent company of Family Dollar, has announced the construction of a rebuilt distribution center in West Memphis, set to open next year. This 850,000-square-foot facility will feature building-wide temperature control and improved facilities, as per Dollar Tree’s announcement. Based in Chesapeake, Virginia, Dollar Tree operates 16,476 stores across 48 states and five Canadian provinces.
