The top Halloween costume choices of 2023, as indicated by Spirit Halloween

As the Halloween festivities approach, everyone is gearing up for the celebration. Each year, people eagerly anticipate their favorite costume trends, and for 2023, it’s all about embracing the world of “Barbie.”

“Barbie” has taken the stage in a big way, thanks to its blockbuster movie that dominated the summer box office. This popularity has translated into an extensive collection of Barbie-themed costumes from Spirit Halloween, featuring stunning replicas of the iconic outfits from the film.

NewsChannel 9 conducted a poll to discover the costumes expected to steal the spotlight this year. An overwhelming 85% of respondents voted for Barbie and Ken, followed by 11% in favor of Wednesday Addams, and 2% supporting M3GAN and Oppenheimer.

To get an idea of this year’s top costume picks, we ventured to several local Spirit Halloween stores to see which costumes were flying off the shelves.

According to Spirit Halloween staff at multiple locations, the most sought-after adult costumes this year are Barbie and Ken ensembles. These include the popular Barbie and Ken roller-skating outfits, the Barbie cowgirl attire, Western Ken outfit, quirky Barbie, Barbie and Ken doll boxes, and the fashionable Barbie beach dress.

The Barbie-themed merchandise doesn’t stop there; it extends to Barbie and Ken T-shirts and a chic Barbie pink sweater.

The love for Barbie isn’t limited to adults; kids are also embracing this trend with costumes like the Barbie undercover jumpsuits, the cowgirl outfit, and the Barbie doll box costume for children.
