Android is gearing up to simplify the process of switching between active SIM cards, making it more efficient and convenient
Presently, transitioning between SIM cards on an Android device involves navigating through the Settings app, delving into Network & internet settings, selecting a SIM card, and configuring your preferences for mobile data and calls. This process can be time-consuming, particularly when you’re in a hurry and need to switch to a faster mobile network.
Addressing the requests of numerous users who have wished for a quicker solution, Google has officially acknowledged the need for improvement. In a comment on the Issue Tracker, Google confirmed that a forthcoming Android update will streamline this process.
In the near future, Android will introduce a new Quick Settings tile that allows users to seamlessly switch between active SIM cards, primarily for data purposes. Mishaal Rahman highlighted this comment on Twitter/X and also demonstrated a third-party app that replicates this functionality.
As for the exact release date of this change, it remains uncertain. However, the release of Android 14’s QPR1 update is a potential opportunity to test this enhancement.
