Apple has uncovered a range of issues contributing to the elevated temperatures experienced by some new iPhones. Among these is a glitch within the iOS 17 software, which is slated for correction in an upcoming update.
In response to complaints about the iPhones running excessively warm, Apple has clarified that during the initial setup or device restoration, users might experience heightened warmth due to increased background activity.
Additionally, there is a concern linked to recent updates of third-party applications, causing system overload. Apple has confirmed it is actively collaborating with app developers to resolve these issues, and fixes are currently in progress.
The problematic third-party apps include Asphalt 9, Instagram (owned by Meta), and Uber, with Instagram already having addressed the issue in its app on September 27.
It’s worth noting that the forthcoming iOS 17 bug fix will not compromise device performance in an effort to address the temperature concerns.
Apple, headquartered in Cupertino, California, has emphasized that the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models are not susceptible to overheating due to their design. The incorporation of new titanium shells has significantly improved heat dissipation compared to earlier stainless steel models.
Furthermore, Apple has assured users that the issue poses no safety or long-term performance risks to the phone.
